Five Twitter Poems – How Wars Begin

I.

There are days
when I know
how wars begin
when our silence
and our fear
turn to anger
and we know
we are right
we will win
we will not

————————————

II.

Droplets like daisy
cutters bermside
puddles exploding
rain of terror
igniting
inappropriate
metaphors

————————————

III.

Funny world
funny people
funny times
funny monkey
funny duckling
funny kitty
funny food
funny hair
funny face
funny fun fun
funereal

————————————

IV.

Carry Sunday’s dying corpse
down to the timeline
lash it to the tweet
set fire to the hashtags
and watch it float
downstream into Monday

————————————

V.

I wrote you
a poem that
would change you
but something
you said reminded
me that you just
needed to know
that you needed
no changing

Thank you, Richard, I especially like IV and V. I like the concept of a Twitter poem -- a free-form haiku?

I simply love the challenge of cramming as much as can into 140 characters, Helen.
